Many emigrants from Ticino, both present and past, have taken a keepsake with them to recall their origins, despite their distance from home. This emerged from the answers given in the section entitled "Interviews with those who have returned" where people revealed that they always take a traditional memento with them, such as a coffee cup, the red and blue Ticino flag, or a postcard of their hometown.
