The DETEC Ordinance on Special Category Aircraft (OSCA) of 24 November 2022 provides a flight ban on drones - equivalent as model aircraft - within a 5-kilometre radius of airports without authorisation (Art. 17).

The drone map of the Federal Office for Civil Aviation lets you know exactly where you can fly a model aircraft or drone without territorial restrictions.

The map can also be consulted via the Swisstopo App. Thanks to the GPS localisation of the mobile device, it is also possible to determine its position with precision.

Please note that Locarno Airport is one of the busiest airports in Switzerland: drones and model planes - due to their small size and unconventional type of flight - are invisible for who is flying.

Any violation is liable to prosecution.
